The name is based on ‘Circassian Circle’, a traditional English country dance which features different patterns and shapes made by dancers who begin the dance in a circle formation and create smaller circles, star formations etc. These patterns are mirrored in the designs used in the CD-ROM ‘Circassian circles’. The patterns are particularly suitable for layered decoupage, making delightful multi-layered rosettes. Each of the designs is created from an original drawing or photograph, used as the base image of the design. In each case the design picks up the exact shades and the dominant shapes of the original image, transforming it into a design which fits into the confines of a circle and mirrors the patterns of circular form country dancing.
